Home Sweet Home

It feels so good to be home! We are thankful for our great care at the hospital and the amazing nurses who helped us with so much great advice on bathing and nursing and everything...but there is no place like home!
We have my Mom and Dad staying with us for a few days and they have the fridge stocked up and the most delicious meals prepared for us... My first meal at home - meat loaf, au gratin potatoes, green beans and bread. Just as I finished dishing myself up, Emilia decided she was hungry. This is how every meal has been since we got home. Just as I sit down, baby calls :) Gone are the days of putting yourself first. Emilia comes first now - and, surprising, I am perfectly fine with that! It's like something switches inside of you the minute you become a mother. It is such an amazing gift to be given this beautiful little girl who trusts and loves you in ways she cannot express and who you love and admire in ways you can not explain...this is what love is.
My mom has been wonderful - as always! She is being so careful to not "step in" too much and let us figure it all out, but I have to say, I SO WELCOME her stepping right in at 3:30am after I have been up all night and my boobs are empty and my body is exhausted. She has discovered that Emilia loves to look at the dimmed lights...so through the kitchen and dining room and into her bedroom they go...and then back for another lap...
My dad has also found another girl to love :) Emilia is so happy is Grandpa's arms and loves to make funny faces as she studies him.
