Princesses GALORE!

The much anticipated night finally arrived!  There had been a week long build up which involved lots of ice skating poses with arms out to the side and up in the air, needing to wear "slippery socks" in order to glide across the floor and LOTS of viewings of the sneak peak videos on YouTube.  It was time for the BIG event - Disney on Ice - Princess Wishes!  Emilia was so excited to get her Cinderella dress on and have her hair curled JUST like a princess!

We packed our bag with snacks for the show and some light up toys, loaded the van with 3 princesses and 3 queens and hit the road!  The girls walked through the skyways as fast as their little legs would go.  There were little girls dresses as princesses everywhere!  Each little girl admired the other and called out which princess they were.

We made our way to the special displays of princess gowns and items and then got a very special surprise at the end...the live Princess Tiana!  She looked beautiful in her gown and smiled and waved to the girls.  Emilia took in everything and was loving it.

We got to our seats and Emilia handed her friends the little snack bags we packed and then the show began!  The music, the costumes, the color, the lights - it was literally what little girls dreams are made of.  Emilia would call out which princess was coming next based on what Mickey and Minnie said or what Tinkerbell was carrying or what song started to play.  Each time, her face lit up and she wiggled and giggled and clapped her hands.  Her reaction was undoubtedly the best entertainment :)

At intermission, Emilia asked with concern if there was going to be more.  I assured her there would be more.  We hadn't seen Cinderella yet after all!

Emilia never got tired of watching the show and when it was really over...there were a couple tears.  It was bittersweet for both of us as I know how quickly each phase passes.  Would she be as excited to come back to the show a year from now or will she be on to the next thing?  I sympathized with her sadness, but encouraged her to be happy that she got to have such a fun night with her friends and promised her that there would be other special things to look forward to.  Little does she know...there is already something in the works...
