When I saw that Disney on Ice - Princess Wishes was coming to town, I KNEW I had to take her to see her favorite princesses. I gave Emilia her "ticket" for the show this weekend and told her which friends we'll be going with. I explained to her that this was something special that we were going to do because she is a such a sweet girl and a great big sister and because I love her so much. Her eyes lit up when she saw her note from Tinkerbell with princess pictures sprinkled on the top. She gave me a big hug and an, "I love you, mommy" making it all that much more sweet.
After we talked about the show, I showed her this sneak peak video so she'd have an idea what we'll be seeing come to life next weekend:
Well, we have watched this clip no less than 20 times in two days. WOW - she is excited. She has been pretending to skate around the house like a princess and plans to wear her Cinderella dress to the show. I plan to just embrace this love affair she has with princesses and I'm sure her dream of showing up at the performance dressed as a princess will come true.
You better believe I'll be using this very special upcoming event as a reminder for her to be on her best behavior this week. This means sharing nicely with her sister, no whining, staying in bed and being sweet, not sassy. All it takes is a sideways look from me and the not so pretty behavior vanishes.
I guess Disney really is magic :)
