Emilia's 4th Birthday Party!

The birthday girl!
We celebrated Emilia's 4th birthday today with a party theme requested by the princess.  Gone are the days that I get to come up with a party theme.  The girl KNOWS what she wants and it is ALL about princesses!  Thankfully, as her "party planner", I had the liberty of deciding on the details and making sure there was a fun surprise for the birthday girl.

12 months of Emilia and princess cupcakes!
For our birthday princess, we found a princess castle bounce house on craigslist that we picked up back in January.  We were SO excited to get it set up during Emilia's nap and to see her reaction to it right before the party started.  As it ususally goes...the more you build up the reaction you think you're going to see out of your child, the more likely it is that you will get the complete opposite reaction.  And that we did.  Emilia was woken up from her nap still a little groggy.  I brought her outside hoping the sight of her castle bounce house would stir up some smiles and excitement.  Instead, she just whined and said she didn't want to go in it.  I really should have predicted this...  She did eventually come around to the bounce house and joined her friends, but not at all how we envisioned she would.

Pretending to be kitty's and saying, "MEOW!"

The girls did their girly thing and put on pretty lips and had a pretend birthday party at the birthday party.

The highlight of the party for Emilia and her friends was the Princess Treasure Hunt. I gave Jeff the job of writing a cute and clever princess themed treasure hunt to encorporate the prizes I had purchased. He did an AWESOME job and when the hunt was over, the kids wanted to do another one!

Running after hearing the clue!

Princess Treasure Hunt

Cinderella’s shoes were made of glass
At least that is the tale
If you would like to wave a wand
You’ll have to check the mail
(Wands - Mailbox)

Snow White shared a house with 7 dwarfs
My, that must have been tense
The dwarfs have hid stickers for you
They’re somewhere on the fence
(Stickers - Somewhere on (under) the fence)

The Fairy Godmothers saved Aurora
With a spell using magical words
You can wear some special rings
If you look where we feed the birds
(Rings - Bird-feeder)

The Beast turned out to be a Prince
Enchanted with a mysterious rose
To get your magical necklaces
You need to find the hose
(Necklaces - Garden Hose)

When Tiana turned into a frog
She had to run and hide
Treats and Sweets await you all
Just look under the slide
Candy - Swing set (under the slide)

Happy 4th Birthday, Emilia Marie!
