The Great Minnesota Get-Together!

We had a fab time at the fair tonight with Jess, Dusty and Savannah! The animals were friendly, the food was delicious and the friends were even better!

We started off our fair experience with some french fries that Emilia thought were all hers! Good thing the bucket was big enough for us to fit our hands in with hers :)

The french fries were followed by mini donuts, Pronto Pups, a turkey sandwich (Jeff), deep fried pickles (Sarah) and, of course, cheese curds. Wow...that sounds really gross when you list it all out, but trust me, every last bite was worth it! Check out these two babes lovin' their very own Pronto Pups!

Although the food is probably one of the top things we go to the fair for...this year, we were also excited about trying out some rides at the Kidway :) We weren't sure how Emilia was going to do with the rides as the only one she has ever ridden has been the carousel. Miss Savannah, on the other hand, is a seasoned little rider having already been to Disney Land! So, having her with Emilia was very reassuring for her. We started out with the little cars, moved onto swings and whales and bumblebees! She was a little hesitant before getting on most of the rides, but loved every second once they started and was hard to get off when it was over! Just look at her in the pictures below...she had the time of her life!

Behind the wheel, picking up speed and honking the horn!

The swings that they would have stayed on all night!

Having a "whale" of a good time!

Up to some fun "bizzz-ness" with Dad!

The ride remix :)

After the rides, we tried to do some other "fair-ish" things like visit some animals :) The girls loved to see the animals up close and even got to touch a few of them! As we were walking out the Miracle of Birth Center, Emilia said her goodbyes to the animals we walked by..."Good night sheep...good night horsies." So sweet.

Even with all the excitement around us, Emilia took the time to stop and smell the flowers...

A quick (and silly) wave to the camera and we called it a night! We're already looking forward to next year... We may actually accomplish more than just eating and riding!!

Bravo on the mini donuts - probably my favorite fair food. Although deep fried pickles sounds interesting.
