Nonna's 80th Birthday!

We headed to Duluth this weekend to celebrate Nonna's 80th birthday! It was a beautiful day and we had a fun lunch at Bellisio's full of great family time and yummy food! We are so thankful for every birthday that we get to celebrate, and we are especially thankful for good health when we get to celebrate big ones like 80! My Nonna is as beautiful and lively as I she has always been! Here's the picture my Mom and Dad had put in the paper to announce her big birthday! She's 21 and on vacation in Florida :)

We asked the waitress how old she guessed Nonna to be because we KNEW there was no way she'd guess 80. Nonna told her to "Be honest to herself" when guessing and waitress guessed 65. This got a "salute" from Nonna and big smiles all around! I hope the youthful gene is mine as well because it sure is prominent with Nonna and my Dad!!

During our special birthday lunch, Emilia got to enjoy her very first drink flight...4 different kinds of juice in wine glasses that she refers to as "special glasses". When everyone's wine flights were presented to them, she was very sad, feeling very left out of the fun (for the record, so was I!). So Grandma saved the day by asking if they could bring out a juice flight for Emilia to enjoy :) She loved it! Check out the pics below...they say it all...

Mom and Dad, happy about their wine flights! Notice my pouty girl in the background...

Here's a closer look at the pouty face...

And then here she is after her juice flight arrived! Mmmm, mmmm! Such a distinguished palette!

Here's a pic of the Parlanti gang back at the hotel.

And here's a sweet little pick of Grandpa and Emilia on they way to the car before we headed home. Emilia is always SO sad to leave Grandma and Grandpa and immediately asks when we'll see them again. Lucky for her, this time we were able to say that we'll see them for Easter this weekend :)
