We took Olivia in for her 4 month check up today. I was not quite on top of making her first couple appointments, so the earliest I could get in for her 4 month was when she was actually a little over 4.5 months. Each week means so many changes and so much growing when they are this little. As was the case when we were at the doctor for her newborn check up, there was another Olivia in the waiting room that was called in while we waited. Poor girl. She'll have to be unique in other ways... We got called back and undressed Olivia to be weighed and measured. Olivia is growing beautifully and her development is right on track. I asked the doctor what she thought of her size based on her percentiles and based on how DIFFERENT her big sister was at
this age. The doctor explained that it's possible that the formulation of my milk is different and it's also possible that it has to do with her metabolism. Poor girl is going to take after her Mommy... :)

Emilia came a long as the brave big sis who would stand by when Olivia got her shots. I promised Emilia that this appointment was just for Olivia and that she wouldn't have to get any shots. Little did I know that the flu shot was available and they offered it up to Emilia when we got there. It was just me and the girls since Jeff had a meeting and, let me tell you...getting a 3 year old that KNOWS the pain of a shot (and who was also NOT prepped about getting one) to get her little pant leg down and sit on the table is NO easy task. I'm pretty sure she terrified every child in the nearby exam rooms with her screaming and crying. It took her quite a while to regroup after the shot and lots of me reminding her to take a deep breath. Olivia, on the other hand, recovered from her shots in under 10 seconds. She made a pouty face after the first prick and was letting out her first cry by the second, but once I picked her up and gave her a little hug-bounce-sway, she was fine. Emilia got a free DQ ice cream cone coupon out of the deal. See - shots aren't so bad :)
