We finally got around to using our farmers market beets last night! I found a simple recipe online for
beet soup and whipped it up for Jeff and I. It was colorful, simple and delicious! Emilia didn't get to dig into a bowl of her own...she had eaten her dinner earlier and to be honest - I was really afraid that the deep
fuchsia color of the beets would stain her hands, face and clothes. But, we did let her have a taste after it was pureed to perfection and she seemed to really like it :) I might let her have a few more spoonfuls of the leftovers tonight - we'll see how brave I am.

Oh, the days of the permanent bruised forehead! I think we're finally past it-now it's more like a monthly or bimonthly bruise. For several solid months I don't think we have a picture of Ben without that bruised head! She's growing up so fast, I can't wait to see her again!
