We stayed at the Canal Park Lodge which is just fabulous. Great views of the lake, tons of comfy couches to sit around and lounge, a warm fire and a swimming pool and hot tub for the miss! The Lodge is where we were when Emilia learned to walk, so the hallways of the hotel are especially close to our hearts! This time, Emilia was RUNNING in the hotel - first by seeing Grandma and Grandpa arriving at the front door and running to my Mom as if it were a dramatic scene in a movie. Boy, oh BOY does she LOVE her Grandma and Grandpa!!! She couldn't care LESS about us when they are around. I have to admit - I love to see how much love she has for them - and they love soaking it all up - but I do miss "my girl" a little when we're all together :)
We celebrated on Saturday with my Nonna and Nonno by going to lunch at the Blackwoods Grill and Bar. Emilia was great sitting through lunch and was especially fascinated with this mini train that circled through the restaurant. Emilia took a little time to warm up to Nonna, Nonno and Lee Ann when they arrived. This is the phase she's currently going through. She becomes VERY clingy when she's not sure about new people, but, by the end of their visit, she was sharing her sweet kisses before going back to the room for nap time. When she woke up, she was asking, "Where's Nonna?" What a girl!

My mom has more pictures from the weekend, but I did come away with this one on my camera of Emilia going for a ride on the luggage cart with Grandpa. Between running the hallway and climbing the stairs, this was her favorite activity of the weekend! The boardwalk stroll was still a little chilly (MOM!) I'm sure the next time we're there - it will be "just right!"
