I have been singing lullabies to Emilia since she was first able to hear at 18 weeks in my tummy. The first song I sang to her was Baby Mine - I have loved this song since the first time I heard it.
Once Emilia was born - we added more songs to the rotation. We'd sing Itsy Bitsy Spider to stop her from squirming during diaper changes and at bed time, I would always sing Jesus Loves Me.
Over the last few weeks, Emilia has started to sing along with me during her bedtime lullabies. She'll usually sing the last word of the phrase as she anticipates whats coming next.
Me: Jesus loves me, this I...
Emilia: KNOW!
Me: For the Bible tells me...
Emilia: SO!
Me: Little ones to him...be-
Emilia: LONG!
Me: They are weak, but he is...
Emilia: STRONG!
She still has her playtime favorites as well - Baby Beluga, Wheels on the Bus and, for some reason...Jingle Bells!?!? She's actually SINGING the words and trying to hit the right notes!
Jeff was telling me about a night I was out with friends at Book Club and American Idol was on TV. Emilia stood in the middle of the living room, with her legs in a wide stance, holding an imaginary microphone while she swayed back and forth singing gibberish. Hilarious!
If she's anything like her mom - she'll keep singing and singing and never stop :)

How cute is that! You should get a Raffi CD, very fun songs with a memorable tune to help sing along.
