"Come on...love the camera..."

During Emilia’s first year, we visited the JCPenney Portrait Studio every month to get her picture taken. We take tons of pictures on our own, but a scheduled portrait session was our way of ensuring that we captured how incredibly fast she grew and changed. She was a perfect portrait subject. The photographers had no problem getting good pictures of her, making our decision of picking a picture so difficult. She even became a bit of a “star” around there... Check out the picture below that is up on the wall, behind the register at the studio :)

After the first 12 months, we decided to keep up the portrait sessions with visits every other month. Well – we soon realized that her cute little appearance wasn’t the only thing going through some major changes – so was her personality and her ability to resist being photographed. I would say that the last time we had a successful portrait session was when she was 14 months. She has just been walking for a couple weeks and was still willing to be cooperative. After that – it took a lot more coaxing and we were LUCKY to get ONE good picture out of our time there... We’re hoping she will grow out of this and begin to “love the camera” again – but in the meantime, we take what we can get.

Here are a few of the pictures that were taken at our most recent visit – 20 Months. Even with Grandma, Grandpa, Daddy, Me, her baby and her “radio” there – she was not willing to sit alone for more than about 10 seconds. And as you can see - the bow only lasted through the first couple shots. Such a little Sassy Pants!
