Mr. Yuk

It was a ROUGH weekend at our house.  I picked up Emilia from daycare on Friday and the first words out of her mouth were, "My tummy hurts" and not 10 seconds later, she was puking on the floor at daycare.  I gathered the girls and their things as quickly as possible, loaded them into the car, dialed the pediatric nurse line to see if they could tell me what was "going around" and headed home.  We were told a virus was going around that involved lots of vomiting followed by diarrhea and just overall exhaustion.  TGIF.

We tried to keep Olivia at distance from her big sis, but it was inevitable that both of them were going to be sick.  With Jeff on the couch and me on an air mattress in the living room, we stayed as close as possible to the girl's rooms so we could jump up and get to them quickly when they needed us.  It was a LONG night, but Jeff was awesome, keeping his incredibly sensitive gag reflex under control and keeping me from becoming too overwhelmed.  There was a point at 3am when I sat in Olivia's room, completely exhausted, feeling like there was no end in sight, while Jeff changed another crib sheet.  I was near tears and so sad for my poor babies, I asked "What do we do?  Put on a pot of coffee?"

Thankfully, the next day brought a fresh start for everyone.  Olivia wasn't throwing up anymore and Emilia, although still with a touchy stomach, was on the mend.  I spent the majority of the morning doing laundry and cleaning everything that may have come in contact with the sick bugs.  By late afternoon, Emilia was begging us to take her on a walk.  Fresh air!  Just what the doctor ordered.

Notice the little yellow bowl in Emilia's buggy...
just in case.

I have yet to have the "throwing up" sick baby and can't even imagine how tough that must be...and 2 of them! Glad they are on the mend and we have sunshine on the way for the weekend!

Poor babies! But yeah for teamwork - glad you and Jeff managed to steer clear of the sickness!
