Sledding Fun!

We layered up our winter gear, put our purple sled in the trunk and headed to a nearby park where we met up with Kate and Tommy to take on a sledding hill this morning.  It was a little foggy, but the temperature felt great at almost 30 degrees.  This winter has been so cold that it has been nearly impossible to enjoy anything about it.  But today, we had SO much fun!

The first couple times down the hill, I rode with Emilia.  Once both kids were comfortable, we loaded them on a sled together and gave them a good push down the hill.  Kate and I giggled as much as the kids did as they sledded down the hill.  It was so funny watching them slide away, come to a stop, jump up and come running back up for more.  Emilia let Tommy be the gentleman and pull the sled back up for another run.

There were a couple runs that resulted in face fulls of snow, but that didn't slow them down!  We wiped away the snow, snot and tears and off they went on another trip down the hill!  Thanks to Kate for snapping and sharing her pics!!

T: "You go ahead, Emilia.  I've got the sled for us!"
E: "(Giggling) Thanks, Tommy."

Giddy about sledding!

Ready for a push!

Look at that distance!

Running back for more!

It has to be said...  Although Emilia looks great in these pics and was at nearly full energy on the hill, she was struggling with a doozey of a cough / cold.  We brought the kids to lunch at Mc Donald's afterwards where Emilia showed very little of an appetite and, before long, was coughing pretty hard and surrendered the nuggets she did eat back to her Happy Meal box (if you know what I mean).  Wow.  Not a great end to our fun morning, but, that's real life.  Thankfully, she bounced back quickly and ate her left over nuggets / fries at home before taking a nap.  What a girl.
